Garlic-head Vase with
Almond, Willow and Spring
Swallow Decor in Painted
Enamels
Ch'ien-lung period (A.D.
1736-1795)
Ch'ing Dynasty
Height 17.5cm
This vase has a
straight mouth and a head
which resembles a head of
garlic. It has a tall
slender neck, a large
round belly, and a flat
base with a low ring foot.
The outer wall is painted
in enamel colors with a
willow tree and an almond
tree. Roosting birds ,
swallows in flight, bamboos
and rocks add further
exquisite touches to the
scene.
